How long do I have to divide property after a divorce?

The limitation period is three years, but it runs not from the divorce but from the day you learned your right to the joint property was violated. As long as your share is not disputed, the clock does not run.

Do I have to go to court over an inheritance?

No. If the heirs agree, a notary registers the inheritance. A court is needed when the time limit to accept the inheritance was missed, the heirs are in dispute, or the validity of a will is in doubt.
